Fall Fun is right around the corner! We have your guide to all things Fall and end-of-Summer fun here in this September 2023 edition of the Dayton Dozen for Family-Friendly Events around town. (Psst – this is another Baker’s Dozen for you!)

1. CAESAR FORD SUMMER FEST

Caesar Ford Park

R&B – September 9, 2023
Doors open at 6:30PM. Petey Pablo will take the stage at 8PM, followed by Chingy at 9PM.

Greene County Parks & Trails is proud to present great R&B entertainment again this year! Make plans to join us for a late summer evening with Petey Pablo and Chingy. Spread the word and enjoy an evening with lots of fun, comfortable seating, and loads of free and easy onsite parking. Food trucks and cold beverages will be available onsite.

2. Dungeons & Dragons Club for Families

Saturday, September 2nd

*Registration opens at midnight Aug 18. This will fill so plan to register right away if interested.

For ages 8 and up, learn how to play the game from character creation to the adventure itself. Dice provided.

3. Kettering Holiday at Home

A weekend of activities including 5k, Parade, Auto Show, Arts and Crafts, and more entertainment.

4. Chess Club

1st Wed of the month

5. Stuffed Pal Daycare

Wednesday, September 6th
Drop off between 9:30-11:30am

Miami Township Dayton Metro Library Branch

Drop off a stuffed pal for a day at the Library. Pick up before bedtime from 3-6pm or the next day, and see what they’ve been up to. A recurring monthly event.

6. Mad Hatter Party

Families with ages 4-8 can come explore the Adventures in Wonderland stations.

7. Game Design Playtest

2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, recurring

Epic Loot Games

Come test games in development from the designers. Encouraged to bring your own prototypes as well. $5 charge in-store credit to participate.

8. Tail Waggin’ Tutors

Thursday, September 14th

*Registration opens at midnight August 15th. Call soon after to secure your time slot, as they will fill.

Kindergarten-Grade 5 kids can sign up for a fifteen minute slot to read to a therapy dog.

9. Selfie Squirrel Challenge

Friday, September 15th

Miami County Parks

Register for a hint for where Sebastian the Selfie Squirrel is hidden. Receive the hint on Friday and have the weekend to find and take a photo with the Squirrel. A great way to get outside and have fun while doing so (and maybe even win a prize).

10. EcoFest

11. Glowforge Business Card Holder

Wednesday, September 20th

*Registration opens at 8am August 21st. This will fill, so plan to register right away if interested.

Adults will be guided to use the Maker Space laser cutter/engraver. Everyone will go home with a completed business card holder.

12. Tabletop Game Night
