Rockets, Planets and Telescopes with Dayton Metro Library hosting Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

Learn the assembly of a basic telescope, what makes rockets work, and the scale of our solar system.
Learn to Skate Youth Course with Five Rivers Metro Parks
Sunday, January 5th, 12th and 19th
11:40-12:10 at Riverscape $50
ages 9-13
Learn skating skills such as forwards, backwards, three turns, bunny hop, lunges and crossovers. Possible make up day Jan 26. Price includes skates. Arrive 15 min early to prepare.
Spot the Squirrels Scavenger Hunt with Centerville-Washington Park District
Thursday, January 9th- Thursday, February 13
clues emailed out each Thurs.
Prior to this weekly excursion, people signed up to decorate people sized-wooden squirrels. Now they are being placed in a park each week with a clue to find them. They will only be in that park for one week, so make an attempt to get out before others appear elsewhere. Fill out a provided form for which you find where to receive a small prize at the end.
An excellent way to get out of the house every week during Winter.
Meet the Heroes with Washington-Centerville Library

Meet a Coast Guard Auxiliary Officer for storytime and a craft.
Stuffed Animal Sleepover with Wright Memorial Library

Bring a stuffy to enjoy some Library fun overnight. Come for storytime and prepare your friend to stay the night. Pick up starting at 10am the next day and see what fun they were up to.
Kids Night Out with Vandalia Recreation Center

Bring your bathing suit and towel for the pool and closed toe shoes for the rock climbing wall. Additionally, crafts, games and snack plus drink is provided. Walk-ins welcome until capacity.

Broadway After-School Intensive: Six with Dayton Live

Working with theatre professionals, work towards an informance with music, dance and scene work. Receive merch from the show, dinner each night and a ticket to the Wed Eve performance of SIX at the Schuster.
Library Teen Takeover with the Greene County Library

Starting Jan 4th, a guardian can register in person for their 6th grade and up student to have some after hours fun at the Winter’s branch of the Greene County Public Library. A mini lock-in experience for teens.
Archery Basics for Youth with the Kettering Rec Center

Guest from Edison State Community College is on hand to help college-bound HS Seniors through the FASFA application process. Bring proof of family income, tax forms, social security numbers and a list of interested schools.
