The year is almost over, but the family fun is just getting started! Here is your Dayton Dozen (another Baker’s Dozen!) for December 2023 of family-friendly events and things to do this month.


1. Santa’s Wonderland {Bass Pro Shop & Cabela’s}

2. Coyote Search

December 1
6-7:30pm

Cox Arboretum National 

Ages 3-13 registration required, Free to attend. Part of Conservation Kids.

Learn about the many adaptations of the Coyote and attempt to lure them closer for a peek. 

3. Dayton Ballet School Nutcracker Party

December 1
6-8pm

Ages 5-11 can be dropped off (pajamas party attire) for crafts, snacks, games and dancing. $40 per child.

4. TMCPL After Dark

December 1
6-8pm

For teens in grades 6-12, enjoy some after-hours fun. Preregistration required beginning two weeks prior.

5. Horse-Drawn Carriage Parade and Festival 

December 2

Daytime Parade – 1pm, Candlelight Parade – 7pm

6. Nutcracker Storytime

Wright Memorial Library

Ballare School of Dance performs with its student dancers for this special storytime event

7. Vandalia Tree Lighting and Holiday Market

Vandalia Rec Center

FREE! Shop inside then come outside at 6 for the tree lighting. Food trucks, goat cuddles and Santa on site.

8. Miamisburg Community Holiday Celebration

December 3
5:30-8pm

Taking place throughout downtown, experience a parade, caroling, Santa, crafts to buy and some to make, bake sale and the tree lighting.

9. Holly Days at the Arcade

Art Supply donations for We Care Art accepted at the door (see website for list). Free and open to the public, experience shopping with local vendors, food and live entertainment.

Experience a Victorian Christmas with this Free, all ages event.

12. Luminary Walk

West Carrollton 

Stroll through the lit path while listening to holiday music. Roast marshmallows and sip hot chocolate by the West Carrollton Lions Club

13. Christmas Concert with Winters-Bellbrook Library and Bellbrook Presbyterian Church

57 West Franklin St

Beavercreek Brass performs a free holiday concert for all ages. Registration not required, but suggested for reminder.
