5 Tips for a Great Online Dating Profile for Moms

Online dating sometimes feels like a minefield with only mines, but I believe there are some ways to help navigate it. Here are my five tips for single moms trying to create an online dating profile.

Have friends, a photographer or semi-professional photographer take pictures of you happily doing things you enjoy while you are out and about.

This shows men that you have interests aside from mommin’ and you will look blissful and radiant as you naturally enjoy your favorite activities.

Don’t put pictures of your kids and custody situation information on your profile for safety reasons.

Online dating profiles are public and it’s easy for someone to take advantage of you with all that information you’re posting online. That’s something to talk about in-person, when you determine this is a person and not a bot or catfisher.

Write out a personal list for yourself of exactly what you want out of your next relationship and frame the wording of your profile around that.

If you have a goal, you will be more likely to achieve it than saying, “Yeah I’m open to whatever.”

Consider writing about your interests and things you love to do that are local activities.

Look at the men’s profiles and consider activities you enjoy that men are reporting that they love to do also. Consider “video games, axe throwing or pickleball” vs “crocheting and shopping” as an example. Maybe say that you are interested in finding someone to help you learn more about pickleball or axe throwing (as an example for Dayton) if you don’t do those things right now.

Consider your audience.

If you entice a variety of men, then you have more to choose from. Wear clothes in your pictures (and in real life) that are flattering.
Are there any other tips you’d add to this list for all of the single moms out there?
