It’s winter, we’re cold – what could be better than languishing in a nice, warm bathtub instead of being outside?!
Bath time in my house means relaxation (ok, not really) and fun. We have a variety of magnetic tiles and toys in the bathtub. My kids love squirting some foaming hand soap in a cup and putting some plastic fish in it to make a “smoothie,” which I then “drink” to get a bunch of soap suds all over my face. “Extra lobsters, please,” I’ll say as they add an extra plastic lobster on top.
Whenever they get upset or out of sorts, I institute a mandatory bathtub party, no matter what is going on because a bath calms everyone down.
Wouldn’t it be great for a mom to have a bath all to herself? Yes, indeed it would! Once, my sister set up a nice bath for me with the bathtub all the way filled up, relaxing spa music playing, and electric candles floating in the tub. She even had soap flowers floating on top. Clearly, she doesn’t have kids! None of those would last five minutes in my house. It was very relaxing, though.
Treat yourself – maybe buy some stuff and hide it, take your bath and have someone else watch the kids for a bit.
